Original vintage Soviet space race era propaganda poster - Glory to Labour! Glory To Science! This is Our Mind, These are our Hands! / Слава труду! Слава науке! Это наш ум, это наши руки! - featuring a red spacecraft with a robot arm named Luna-16 holding up a crescent moon in front of the earth with a starry space sky in the background, the message below reads - On 24 September 1970, for the first time in the history of space exploration, lunar soil was brought to earth by a Soviet spacecraft - the text in white letters. Part of the unmanned Луна Космическая Программа / Luna Space Programme (1958-1976), the Луна-16 / Luna 16 was a robotic probe with a stereo photographic imaging system (television camera and telecommunications equipment), a remote extendable arm and a radiation detector that successfully collected and returned a 101 gram soil sample from the moon making it the first fully automatic recovery of a lunar sample return. Good condition, restored tears on edges, small restored paper losses on right edge, backed on linen.
